3D MODELLING & TEXTURING – A bridge I 3D modelled in Blender and textured in Adobe Substance Painter during my second year at Confederation College. It was a huge centrepiece of the overarching project, and I quite enjoy how it turned out. I took especial inspiration from Roman aqueducts for its design, note the outcropping “reinforcements” on the arches.
3D MODELLING & TEXTURING – A closer look at the bridge and the walkway’s normal and height mapping (the way light collides with the brick mortar indent or the grout between the tiles). I found texturing this to be really fun, though in general I think Adobe Substance Painter is great.
3D SCULPTING – A sculpted 3D head of a character for a second-year 3D modelling class, made in Blender. The textures, unfortunately, weren’t working right when I tried to import them. This took a surprisingly long time to make look right, but I am quite satisfied with the results
3D MODELLING & TEXTURING – A music box I 3D modelled in Blender and textured in Adobe Substance Painter. The disk spins, and there is a music track that plays – check the demo reel for the animated version!
PHOTOGRAPHY – A photo I took for the criteria of “low light” in my first year, image edited only slightly to pop the colours out and make it feel warmer. The blanket itself is a salmon-pink hue, but the room’s warm lighting makes it look almost orange (and also very soft). Funnily, this wasn’t the original intention for the picture – I just don’t recall what the original was, only that it wasn’t this.
PHOTOGRAPHY – The inside of my washing machine, taken from above and brightened in Photoshop. It looks very weird and I very much like it, like some sort of U.F.O.
PHOTOGRAPHY – A photo I took of a river in Thunder Bay’s Centennial Park. It’s a very pretty picture in my opinion, with the clear water and the reflection within it, as well as the rocks and gravel framing the water.
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR – An ad I made in my second year of college for the fictional company SONARICS, sized for an Instagram post. I really like how this one turned out.
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR – Made in my second year of college for an assignment based on Casper’s “perfect mattress” ads, I found this assignment particularly fun to work on due to how cartoony I could get with it (it’s a person literally trying to align with their centre [which is floating in the air] by meditating on a mattress), as well as the overdone, cheesy expressions.
